Community Woodland Group

Who are Draituna Trees?

Draituna Trees are a group of enthusiastic volunteers committed to promoting and protecting woodland and wildlife within the Parish of Drayton. Comprised of local residents including the tree wardens , the group encourages the local community to become actively involved in projects within the parish and to enjoy and develop the green spaces in Drayton.

Draituna Trees have good links with the local Infant and Junior Schools and have encouraged the children of Drayton to plant acorns in a tree nursery at the Infant School. The children tend to the saplings until they are ready to be planted out into the local community woodland at the Longdale site.

Draituna Trees is led by Sara Atchoarena (Chair), Joy Ramsey (Vice-Chair), Pat Chester-Kadwell (Secretary) and Phil Rees (Treasurer). Other current members of the committee are Des Mack, Judith Spicker, Valerie Sabberton and Brendan Chester-Kadwell.

We would welcome more committee members, please contact us to volunteer!

We are currently affiliated to the Green Light Trust.
